Art in Hidden Places Good friend and recording artist Keita Aoki (aka Konnie)
was interviewed on TV show 'Art in Hidden Places'. Konnie talks
about the Japanese music industry and western influences in his
music.
Konnie is exemplary of Japanese ambition, talent and cool. One of
the most inspirational and nicest dudes you'll ever meet.
Chanel Mobile Art Chanel has developed a mobile art museum which will travel
the world, starting in Asia, then the United States and through
Europe. The futuristic pavillion was designed by architect Zaha Hadid
and will house work by 20 international contemporary artists.
When The Wild Things Are?
Warner Bros. were unhappy with the original 'not-so-child-friendly'
state of Spike Jonze's film, and have postponed the release until
October 16th 2009, pending possible reshoots. It's quickly becoming
a never-ending wait for all us Maurice Sendak fans.
Disc Cameras In our recent camera-nerd-mode we stumbled upon a Hanimex
Disc 320 at Rozelle Markets. Purchased for 10 bucks purely because
it was like the coolest thing ever. Reminded me of a walkman. Intrigued
by the retro-looking film camera we searched everywhere for disc
film. Apparently it was an unsuccessful 'compact' film format that
Kodak developed in the 80's and was phased out eons ago.
If there is anyone out there that wants to donate some unused disc
film you would make us very very happy.

Gold Cards en vogue Gold credit cards seem to currently be all the rage. We have
been using a credit card graphic in an AGWA project (A) because
of the existing visual identity associated with the brand, and (B)
as a metaphor to represent the prestige and excusivity the brand
wishes to align itself with. Also in a recent collaborative production
between luxury bag brand Longchamp
and designer Jeremy
Scott, the Gold Card image was utilized.

Uni Qlock
If you know us well, you would know how much we love Uni
Qlo and how much they've helped us out over the last couple
of years, stuffing our wardrobes full of the highest quality Japanese-made
everyday staples. Unfortunately Uni Qlo is not available in Australia.
The NYC flagship has proven very successful since opening earlier
this year but there are no signs of a Sydney store in the works.
Despite not being able to enjoy Uni Qlo apparel, you may enjoy the
Uni Qlock.
Very Japanese.

strap. Because it features a hot shoe we are able to use our old
dusty SLR flashes.

New Camera
We got ourserves a new camera. It was tough deciding between the
Powershot
G9, GR
Digital II, or the pocket-friendly R8.
In the end we settled for the G9, which has an endless list of features
including manual functions, manual focus, hot shoe and it shoots
RAW format at 12 megapixels. We will post images of our pimped-out
G9 in the coming days.

Everybody RAP
"R" for Rockwell, plus "A" for Alife, plus "P"
for Patta, equals "RAP". Dutch illustrator Parra adds
a bit of juice to Alife's Everybody Mid model as well as some great
advertising material via print and YouTube.
Alife Everybody Mid "RAP" released on Tuesday 29th at
the Patta store in Amsterdam.
AGWA International
In ode of the crazy crazy amounts of researching and conceptualizing
and photoshopping we wish to show some visual inspirations that
got us to the stage we are in. We cannot show you any screenshots
of our artwork progress but these initial concepts should tatalise
the taste buds and give you a rough idea of what to expect.
Project completion is nearing an end and we cannot
wait to be able to proudly expose it to the www.

Where amazing happens
On the back of the outstanding "Where amazing happens"
campaign for the NBA 2007/2008 season, the playoffs are getting
their very own campaign. It will be titled "There can only
be one".
Jonathan Dayton and his wife Valerie Faris,
who directed 'Little Miss Sunshine', put 20 morphing TVC's together
for the NBA. With state of the art equipment
they used "Warp" technology to put the players together
by synching their movements so they match one another.

Say hello to my little friend
Scarface-inspired posters were created for AGWA to be used in Australian
venues that stock the liqueur. Artwork inspired by 'that particular
scene' and the iconic movie cover.
Designer Vans
Since the beginning of time, Design Nerds have had an infatuation
for grid paper, applying it to their work at every chance they get.
It has always had that old school charm and aesthetic to it, reminding
us of those uninspiring Maths classes. Grid paper is now available
in a shoe version thanks to the Design Nerds at Vans.
The trusted grid paper linework...
And the last time any of us used grid paper in our art-making? A
very long time ago. A couple of years back we used it on a club
flyer...

Footage Voucher artwork
We were recently given the opportunity to produce a gift certificate
for our friends at Footage. We went to great extents to create a
finished piece that not only was going to shout oppulence and exclusivity,
but also be functional. With the voucher being a form of currency
we needed to make it difficult to plagiarize. For this reason we
do not wish to give away the hidden details of the artwork. If you
want to see the finer detail in the voucher then you will have to
purchase a voucher yourself.

Direct Mail for Sydney University
Mail piece designed for The University of Sydney. Project had to
be extremely cost-efficient since it was replacing the regular 'Letter
from the Dean'. It also needed to be finished in a manner that will
allow it to be run through a mono laser printer - as it was to be
mail merged and distributed by the head office in Camperdown. We
opted for a 4-colour offset print on a nice pulpy recycled stock
to give the parchment paper appeal.
We also created the Word file from which the staff could print from.
Not fun.

Xmas Party!
A joint event at the Marlborough House to celebrate a successful
2007. We decided that the best way to represent the collaboration
was to... well... do a collaboration. The invite featured a photograph
of Amanda's apparatii which was remixed with some Good Life flair.
For the visuals on the night Amanda had shot close-ups of scribbles
in our current sketchbooks. These were projected onto the southern
wall of the studio.
